Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro review

Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Specification and Review

Latest in market product by Lenovo is the yoga pro 2. Launched as a successor to the extremely unique and one of its kind Lenovo yoga, the new launch is also as promising as its predecessor. Built on the same strong platform which is a marriage between ultra books and tablets, the new device appears more sophisticated than its older brother.

Yoga 2 Pro Comes With Four Modes

It still consists of the state-of-art 360 degree hinge which enables the users to use the device in any position according to their own will. Based on the usage of this hinge, the Lenovo yoga pro 2 can be used in four modes which are pre defined by the company itself, that are the laptop mode, the stand mode, the tent mode and last but not the least, the tablet mode.

Laptop mode as the name suggests enables the users to use the device as a conventional laptop or ultrabook for regular computer work. The keyboard of yoga pro is a bliss to use with its slightly curved keys adding to the ergonomics and thereby facilitating quick use. The track pad, though performing conventional task of navigation smoothly, struggles hard when it comes to responding to the gesture control and also acts funny sometimes.

Stand mode is when you hold the device with the screen standing atop the keyboard. Accordingly as the name suggests, the base acts as a stand for the gorgeous screen. This mode is basically used while making any presentations or whiling away your time watching movies. Not only has this but even the crisp 13.3 inch screen added up to the awesome experience of movie viewing. At a resolution of 3200 X 1800 and given the screen size, it is impossible for the naked human eye to see any pixels on the screen. Coupled with the vivid and bright color range of the screen, the out coming viewing experience is completely outstanding.

The tent mode is where you tilt back the screen further and use the edge of the keyboard part as the resting stand for the screen just like a table calendar. Lastly, the screen can be completely folded over the base and used as a tab. This converts your yoga into a complete tablet.

Features of Lenovo yoga 2 pro

The Lenovo yoga pro 2 is designed for the purpose of presentation and light use such as watching movies and browsing. Considering this use, the company too has provided specs which are fit for the purpose. The processors range from minimal 1.7 GHz core i3 to the meaty 1.8 GHz core i7. All the processors are based upon the 4th generation Haswell architecture. RAM options include 4GB and 8GB and storage varies from 128GB to 512GB SSDs. The device has no dedicated graphic memory thereby barring high end games and graphic heavy software’s like Adobe Photoshop or CAD software.

Though the 4th generation Haswell architecture promises high performance with extended battery life, the Lenovo Yoga pro 2 lacks in this field. The battery is just enough for viewing three movies in a single charge. Overall, the Lenovo yoga pro 2 has turned out to be a promising product like its predecessor and the company expects the similar level of success from the yoga pro 2.Laptop mode as the name suggests enables the users to use the device as a conventional laptop or ultrabook for regular computer work.
